2a. SPECIALIZED SCOPE OF PRACTICE (NOT A PRIMARY CARE PRACTICE)
Although Dr. Melissa Huck Nguyen is a board-certified Family Medicine physician, Melissa Huck Nguyen MD, INC is a highly specialized, niche private consultation practice focusing strictly on mind-body-spirit care and neuroplastic symptom education. 
- No Primary Care Services: This practice does NOT provide comprehensive primary care (PCP) services, acute urgent care, routine physicals, routine prescription refills, or after-hours call coverage. 
- Requirement to Retain a Primary Care Physician: All website visitors and active patients are strictly required to retain a separate, dedicated Primary Care Physician (PCP) to manage their baseline medical care, routine screenings, emergencies, and standard prescription needs. Dr. Nguyen acts solely as a specialized consultant for your neuroplastic or chronic symptoms and cannot replace your primary medical home.

2b. COMPLEMENTARY, INTEGRATIVE, AND BIOFIELD THERAPIES
In accordance with California Business and Professions Code Sections 2053.5 and 2053.6, this Website features educational content on biofield therapies (such as Reiki), HeartMath biofeedback, and other mind-body-spirit complementary modalities. 
- Not a Substitute for Standard Medical Care: These modalities are alternative, subtle energy practices designed to support relaxation and nervous system rebalancing. They are NOT a substitute for conventional medical diagnosis, standard psychiatric care, medication, or necessary surgical treatments. 
- Consult Your Care Team: You should never alter, delay, or discontinue any prescribed medical treatment or medication in favor of the complementary modalities discussed on this Website without the direct supervision of your primary care physician or relevant medical specialists.

2c. CASH-PAY PRACTICE MODEL, INSURANCE, AND MEDICARE/MEDI-CAL EXCLUSIONS
Melissa Huck Nguyen MD, INC operates strictly on a private-pay basis. 
- No Insurance Billing or Commercial Contracts: I do not contract with, negotiate with, or submit claims to any commercial health insurance companies on your behalf. Payment is due in full at the time of scheduling or service. 
- Superbills & Out-of-Network Reimbursement: Upon request, I can provide a standard clinical superbill that you may choose to submit to your commercial insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I make absolutely no guarantees that your insurance company will reimburse you for any portion of my specialized services, and my office will not provide insurance appeals support. Superbills cannot be generated or used for government programs like Medicare or Medicaid under any circumstances.
- Strict Exclusion of Medicare & Medicaid (Medi-Cal) Beneficiaries: Due to my active enrollment with Medicare/Medicaid through other institutional employers, I am legally prohibited from treating or entering into private cash-pay contracts with any individuals who are actively covered by Medicare, Medicare Advantage, or Medi-Cal. By using this website or attempting to book an appointment, you certify that you are not a Medicare or Medi-Cal beneficiary. Melissa Huck Nguyen MD, INC cannot accept you as a private patient, and you agree not to attempt to bypass this billing restriction.

2d. RIGHT TO A GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE
In accordance with federal consumer protection laws for self-pay medical care under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost. A personalized estimate is built into your onboarding documentation and is accessible within your patient portal.

3. MEDICAL EMERGENCIES & PORTAL COMMUNICATION BOUNDARIES
This Website, its links, and the Practice Better patient portal are not monitored 24/7 and are not equipped to handle medical emergencies. 
- Emergency Protocol: IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, SEVERE ACUTE PHYSICAL DETERIORATION, OR A SEVERE PSYCHOLOGICAL CRISIS, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY DIAL 911 OR PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE NEAREST PHYSICAL EMERGENCY ROOM.
- Portal Messaging Limits: Secure messaging through the Practice Better Client Portal is provided strictly for non-urgent clinical updates, scheduling modifications, and administrative inquiries. I review portal communications during regular business hours and make every effort to respond within 48 to 72 business hours.

4. GEOGRAPHIC JURISDICTION LIMITATIONS (CALIFORNIA ONLY)
All clinical, medical consulting, and energetic services provided through Melissa Huck Nguyen MD, INC. are strictly limited to patients who are physically located within the State of California at the exact time of the service. If you are traveling, on vacation, or physically sitting outside California state boundaries at the time of your virtual session, the appointment cannot legally, contractually, or clinically proceed.

5. SCHEDULING, DEPOSITS, AND THE 48-HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY
By utilizing the direct scheduling links on this Website, you agree to my practice's strict booking boundaries:

- Credit Card on File Requirement: To secure and book any appointment through the third-party client portal, you are strictly required to place and maintain a valid credit card, debit card, HSA (Health Savings Account), or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) card on file within the secure, HIPAA-compliant Practice Better platform. You explicitly authorize Melissa Huck Nguyen MD, INC. to automatically charge this card on file for standard session fees at the time of service, or for applicable full-session fees resulting from a late cancellation or no-show.
- HSA/FSA Card Disclaimer: You are welcome to utilize a valid HSA or FSA card for eligible clinical services. However, it is your sole responsibility to verify coverage with your specific account administrator. I make no guarantees regarding HSA/FSA reimbursement or coverage, particularly for standalone complementary or biofield modalities, and I am not responsible for any card declines or account penalties.
- 48-Hour Restriction Window: If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you must do so at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled session start time. Any appointment cancelled, rescheduled, or missed within this 48-hour window will automatically incur the full fee of the scheduled session, billed automatically to your card on file.
- Short-Notice Bookings: If you schedule a session within a 24-to-48-hour window, that session is instantly locked and cannot be altered or cancelled online without incurring the full session charge.

6. INTEGRATED CLINICAL AI ASSISTANTS & THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS
To maintain an undivided focus on your mind-body-spirit healing rather than administrative data entry, my practice utilizes secure, medical-grade, HIPAA-compliant Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies operating under formal Business Associate Agreements (BAAs). This includes Practice Better's AI Charting Assistant for live session notation drafts, and Hathr.AI for chart synthesis and medical record timeline reviews. Your data is encrypted, completely confidential, and never used to train public AI models.

7. USER-GENERATED CONTENT (BLOG COMMENTS)
If you post a comment on my public Blog, you agree to keep your comments respectful, relevant, and free of advertising or spam. 
- Public Forum Notice: Blog comments are public. For your own privacy and safety, do not post your personal medical history, protected health information, or private contact details in a blog comment.
